CreativeChange Youth Arts Project exhibits images of photographs, paintings, mixed-media and digiarts; sound, and texts (including poetry and excerpts of short essays) created by youth from around the world [Afghanistan, Nepal, Nigeria, USA, Greece, Australia, Netherlands, Spain, Uganda, Russia, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Egypt, UK, Canada, India, Sweden, Philippines, Italy, and more.] The exhibition displays artworks that were submitted via the Youth Arts Contest and are based on and highlight developmental issues such as poverty, HIV/AIDs, women empowerment, education, environment/ water and more.
The educative arts project not only disseminates information on MDGs but also creates a cross cultural dialogue by traveling to numerous sites internationally. In order to accommodate the journey of the traveling arts exhibition and facilitate an efficient way of implementing it in various venues around the globe, the project developed also a workshop opportunity in which it presents the CreativeChange Screening (a compilation of the artworks in video format) to help initiate discussion / dialogue. This session, moderated by local arts and development specialists who encourage further discussion on MDGs, create curiosity and understanding for interdisciplinary approach in development, and inspire taking action; is followed by an arts workshop in which participants are invited to depict their own interpretations of the MDGs.
CreativeChange Youth
Arts Project comprises also a sound initiative - Sound
Project - that presents 'sounds of life' in minutes intending to draw
attention to development issues and help exhibition participants visualize
situations and circumstances.
